NEW YORK – Police shot and killed a human they say lunged at them with a blade in a clash that began in Times Square and drew officers and viewers on a pursue that finished with shots dismissed nearby a of New York’s many heavily touristed areas.
The confront played out Saturday around 3 p.m., when officers approached a 51-year-old human they say appeared to be smoking pot nearby West 44th Street and Seventh Avenue, in the heart of Times Square.
The human became agitated, pulled out an 11-inch blade and began to put a bandanna on his head, military said.
